These designs incorporate the delicate embroidery used in the Huipils, traditional clothing of the Mayan women. Mayan women embroider elaborate designs on their Huipils that tell the stories of their people. These two scarves utilize two symbols for Mayan Women- the Corona (Crown)and Dulce (sweet) Leaf Design. The Dulce Leaf design represents the plant leaves used to wrap candies that are sold in the markets and during festivals.
Made of soft rayon, and of generous length. (70 inches) and width (10 inches)
